Dr. Jacob Overman, DDS
Dr. Overman is excited to bring a new dental experience that addresses all aspects of care. He understands that good care begins with genuine concern for the individual seeking help. Combined with a comprehensive approach and understanding of all of the contributing factors to one’s health (diet, oral hygiene, anxiety, as well as life circumstances), Dr. Overman will always come alongside a patient to restore his or her health.
Originally from Mt. Vernon, IA, Dr. Overman received his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2007. After graduating he worked in private practice in Boone, Iowa, and then served at the Story County Dental Clinic, before opening Overman Family Dentistry in 2010.
Family Inspired
Jacob and his wife Stephanie, have a beautiful family of 6 kiddos! His children’s development largely impacted his view of comprehensive care and inspired him to further his education in growth and development.
Dr. Chaz Chambers, DDS
Dr. Chambers first began in healthcare working as a CNA for three years while attending the University of Northern Iowa. During this time, he found a passion for providing care and serving others and decided to further pursue that passion in dentistry. Dr. Chambers received his Bachelor of Science from UNI and wenton to graduate from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2023. Dr. Chambers understands that visiting the dentist can be a scary and overwhelming experience for many, he enjoys providing quality patient centered care. Helping his patients to be as comfortable as possible while making their experience as anxiety free as he can is his goal.
Dr. Chambers was born in North Platte, Nebraska but spent a majority of his childhood growing up in Dallas Center, Iowa. He enjoys playing sports, exercise, the outdoors, watching movies, and spending quality time with his wife and family. Dr. Chambers is excited to join Overman Family Dentistry and looks forward to providing care for his patients!
Kelsey, Myofunctional Therapist
Kelsey has been working at Overman Family Dentistry since 2014 and began her journey here as a dental hygienist. Over the past four years, she has trained with the IAOM and AOMT in Myofunctional Therapy and has transitioned from hygiene to only seeing patients for Myofunctional Therapy.
Kelsey works with patients to get to the root cause of their crooked teeth as well as helping to improve myofunctional disorders such as thumb sucking, mouth breathing, narrow palates, tongue ties, and incorrect swallows. She also works with patients with Sleep apnea and TMJ disorders to help improve their symptoms.
Kelsey was born and raised in Arizona and moved to Iowa in 2014. She is married and has two beautiful girls, Aubrey and Hayden. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling back to the warmer states a few times a year.
